Question: Can I walk on my metal roof?
Answer: Yes.  Just like on any roof, care should always be taken.
Question: Is a metal roof noisy when it rains?
Answer: A study conducted by the Acoustic Group found that the sound of rain on a metal roof was only 6 decibels greater than that of a conventional asphalt roof.   With ARROWLINE‘s four way locking and fastening system and with the proper underlayment, your metal roof will not contribute to additional noise.
Question: How does the cost of an ArrowLine metal roof compare to other roofs?
Answer: Although the metal roof system will cost more initially, your metal roof is final- it should never need to be replaced. Common asphalt shingles have a shorter life span and will need to be replaced periodically and will probably cost you more money over the life of your roof. A metal roof is less expensive over the life of your home, appreciating it in value.
Question: How will my metal roof withstand severe weather changes?
Answer: Metal shingles are designed to withstand the impact of most hail and wind storms. Metal shingles’ double embossed panels minimize damage that might be caused by hail.  Metal shingles are covered by hail protection warranty and approved by many insurance companies for reduced homeowner’s insurance rates. The lighter weight metal shingles have been successfully tested to withstand winds up to 160mph.  They are designed to endure extreme cold of wintertime and the blistering heat of hot humid summers.
Question: Can Metal shingles reduce my energy bills?
Answer: The metal used in manufacturing of ArrowLine shingles will reflect the majority of the sun’s rays, and therefore minimizes heat build-up in your attic.  This means you could actually have a cooler attic when combined with proper ventilation, which can save you air conditioning costs.
Question: How long should I expect my metal roof to last?
Answer: ArrowLine metal shingles should be the final roof system you ever buy. Metal shingles carry a lifetime non-prorated limited warranty.
Question: Can I install Metal shingle and shakes over my existing roof?
Answer: Yes, in most cases.  ArrowLine shingle shakes weigh only 70 lb per 100 sq ft, which is about one-fifth the weight of a conventional asphalt shingle.  This means that you won’t have to tear off the old roof, thus saving you money on labour and disposal.
Question: Do I need to run a ground wire to the shingles?
Answer: Grounding of metal roofing is not required by most major building code organizations.  Some local building codes might require it, so check with your local inspectors before starting the job.
